Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the Black Series edition of its latest SLS AMG sports car in 2013. In September, the SLS AMG supercar was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but Mercedes-Benz are currently working on the Black Series version of the car to give it even more performance credibility. With the SLS AMG Black Series, it will join the all-electric version which will go on sale around the same time to hit the market in 2013. The current SLS AMG has already boasted impressive performance figures. The SLS AMG is powered with 6.2 litre AMG V8 engine, producing 571bhp. Mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the SLS AMG can go from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of 317km/h. The Black Series SLS AMG is expected to feature lots of carbon fibre to keep the weight down, with a stripped down interior and a highly-tuned version of 6.0 litre V12 AMG engine from the SL65 AMG Black Series expected to feature. Eventual power output of the SLS AMG Black Series could be in excess of 661bhp and achieve a top speed of 354km/h.
