Chrysler officials have announced this morning that the next generation of the sportscar will be the 2012 Dodge Viper. The current Dodge Viper will exit the production line in July next year. The announcement of the 2012 Dodge Viper comes after last summer's rumors that Fiat, the current owner of the brand, was planning to sell it.
The 2012 Dodge Viper will be the fifth generation of the model, with the fourth one going out next year with a final run of 500 units. These final 500 Dodge Viper units will all be special editions.
There are various speculations regarding the involvement of the new owners in the development of the 2012 Dodge Viper, but none of them have been officially confirmed yet.
